NCMA 2022

Year 2022 was a great year at NCMA with welcoming many new members around the bay-area. The NCMA board members hosted four successful events Spring Picnic, Camping, Monthi Fest and the Christmas Party. The board is grateful to all the volunteers for their valuable time to help with all the events.

Spring Picnic was at the Ed Levin Park in Milpitas . This is a beautiful location not to far away from the city but surrounded by nature with beautiful hills , lakes and many trails.

The picnic started with appetizers and drinks with melodious music while the members were being checked in by the volunteers. Initial hour was all about meet and greet followed by lunch which was a potluck. There was a lot of food and everyone enjoyed it.

After lunch the kids did an easter egg hunt led by Shaila Prabhu. There were a lot of candies and goodies as presents in the easter eggs. The kids also danced and sang .

There was a hula hoop and an actions chain game for the adults . It was hilarious and lots of fun .After the games were done we there was a bingo game for all age groups.

The board members then served tea with deserts like cake , cookies etc.

It was a warm sunny day well Spent with the community with all happy faces as they headed back after the Picnic.

Camping was our next beautiful event out in the nature at the Petaluma KOA in July. Many NCMA Families joined this event and spent 2 nights and 2 days together hiking, playing games, barbecuing and sitting around the fire pit enjoying drinks and some yummy home made food that each one bought to share with everyone.

The next event was the Monthi fest a Mangalorean traditional festival. Over 100 people came to this event . The celebration started with the mass by a priest from Mangalorean origin followed by traditional lunch cooked by the NCMA board members and volunteers.

There were games and Baila dances too. the event closed down with tea and snack time .

The Christmas event was at a bigger and new venue with the growing members . The kids performed a Nativity play which was super appreciated . The live band Poco Locos sang all the best dance numbers and kept the everyone dancing. the appetizers ,food and desert were delicious. Many won beautiful raffle prizes . The board wished everyone happy holidays .

Looking forward to 2023 events with new members and current gathering to celebrate the culture and stay connected to the roots.
